New Molecular Sieve

New Molecular Sieve

The molecular sieve (aluminium silicate crystals) is used to selectively separate molecules of different dimensions, such as water from refrigerant. This is made possible by the special structure having extremely small pores, as small as 4 Ångström.

SKG Italia has been developing for more than 8 years new types of molecular sieves with absorption capabilities well above the standard. The average standard on the market is equal to about 16%; SKG Italia offers sieves with absorption capabilities up to 26% as part of a range in constant evolution (MB27 >= 17.5% MB22 >= 21.5% or MB27 >=26%), compatible with all the various types of Automotive refrigerants (r134a, 1234yf, r744, CO2).

In its vision to always go beyond market’s demands, SKG Italia has been able to combine the new high performance sieve with a high-impact visual element: the result is Sorbag®, the best ever water absorbent packet, green, different from all those already on the market, POKA YOKE, and compatible with all refrigerants currently on the market.

SKG Italia has also developed polymers that absorb water and that can be processed mechanically.
